The Grand Canyon Fund (formerly known as the Grand Canyon Conservation Fund) is a non-profit enterprise established by a group of Grand Canyon National Park's licensed river outfitters. Each year, all professionally outfitted river trip passengers are invited to donate $1 per day of their river trip to the Grand Canyon Fund.
In turn, this money is awarded in the form of grants to non-profit conservation groups and those working to provide access to backcountry outdoor experiences for those with physical and socioeconomic challenges. The Grand Canyon Fund does not award grants to individuals, for-profit corporations, or government agencies.
The Grand Canyon Fund is managed by volunteers. There are no administrative overhead costs. 100% of all donations go directly to protecting, promoting, and conserving the Grand Canyon and providing access to those who would not otherwise have the opportunity to share in the Grand Canyon river experience.
All donations made to the Grand Canyon Fund are fully tax deductible as charitable giving. Grand Canyon Fund monies are held and distributed on its behalf by the Grand Canyon Fund, an Arizona non-profit public charity.
Organizations interested in applying for a grant from the Grand Canyon Fund may download the application from this webpage. You may also contact John Dillon, Executive Director of the Grand Canyon River Outfitters Association at (928) 556-0669 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
